Another No-Menu Restaurant Opens in Coconut Grove — And It Only Serves Lasagna
There’s a new reason to visit Coconut Grove’s Commodore Plaza, and it’s saucy, cheesy, and served with zero frills. Say hello to 3190, a 24-seat lasagna-only spot from the team behind Cotoletta and San Lorenzo. Opening today at 3190 Commodore Plaza, the minimalist concept offers just one main dish, a traditional Bolognese lasagna — and no, there’s no menu.
Lasagna Is the Star
The dish, dubbed “Si Papa” lasagna, is a nod to Chef Giulio Rossi’s daughter, who happily repeated the phrase whenever offered the hearty pasta. It’s made Bolognese-style, layered with rich meat sauce and béchamel. Prefer meatless? A vegetarian version with pesto, peas, and green beans is also available.
At $15 per portion, it’s an easy yes — and the suggested pairing is a Villa Di Corlo Lambrusco from Modena, Italy, though a selection of other reds and whites is available (written on a chalkboard, of course). Round out your meal with tiramisu for dessert.
No Menu, No Reservations, No Problem
As with its sibling concepts, 3190 has no written menu, no delivery, and no reservations. You can call ahead for takeout, but otherwise, just show up, grab a seat, and let the lasagna do the talking.
This “lasagna speakeasy” is a collaboration between 84 Magic Hospitality and Kush Hospitality. The idea is simple: remove the guesswork, focus on one perfect dish, and create a cozy space where the food always hits.
A Back-Up Plan for Cotoletta Crowds
Conveniently located just around the corner from Cotoletta, 3190 also serves as a backup for guests waiting for a table next door. Instead of turning diners away on busy nights, the team now offers them a seat — and lasagna — at 3190.
“Instead of turning guests away, we can now offer them something equally special next door,” says co-founder Andrea Fraquelli, who was inspired by customer behavior at his London restaurants. “It wasn’t so risky to reduce the number of choices,” he said.
