Fortnite and Disney Unite for Epic Star Wars Event on May 2

Fortnite’s most ambitious Star Wars collaboration arrives May 2, 2025, introducing a full season of Star Wars-themed content, an exclusive in-game premiere of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, and Epic-Disney account integration for new digital rewards.

Fortnite: Galactic Battle Brings Star Wars to Battle Royale

Beginning May 2, Fortnite: Galactic Battle will launch the first-ever Star Wars-themed Battle Royale season, with new gameplay rolling out weekly.

Players can suit up as Darth Jar Jar, Emperor Palpatine, and more, while piloting X-Wings and TIE Fighters. The season ends in a major live event titled Death Star Sabotage.

Tales of the Underworld to Premiere Inside Fortnite

For the first time, Disney+ will debut a series inside a game. On May 2, players can watch the first two episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld exclusively on the Star Wars Watch Party island inside Fortnite—before it arrives on Disney+ on May 4.

• The Watch Party Island opens at 10 a.m. ET, designed in Unreal Editor for Fortnite.
• Players can also battle Stormtroopers using lightsabers and blasters during the event.

Epic and MyDisney Accounts Now Linked for Exclusive Rewards

Starting today, players can link their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts to unlock a First Order Stormtrooper outfit. This is the first step in connecting Fortnite with a new Disney gaming universe, enabling more integrated fan experiences.

Additional in-game rewards and crossover perks will follow.

Disney and Epic Tease the Future of Immersive Entertainment

“This is the first time Disney+ is premiering a show inside a game,” said Sean Shoptaw, EVP of Disney Games. “It marks the beginning of a new era where fans can watch, play, and connect across platforms.”

Created by Dave Filoni, the animated anthology follows two iconic Star Wars outlaws:

• Asajj Ventress, on the run with a mysterious new all.
• Cad Bane, who confronts an old friend turned lawman.

The series is executive produced by Dave Filoni, Athena Portillo, and Carrie Beck, and will premiere May 4, 2025, on Disney+.
