Largo Crash: Two Children Killed, Several Injured in Tragic Collision

A devastating crash in Largo on Saturday afternoon claimed the lives of two young boys and left several others injured, according to local police.

The Largo Police Department confirmed the victims as Charlie Herbert Solomon Riveria, age 4, and Jabari Elijah Solomon, age 10. The fatal collision occurred on Ridge Road, between Ulmerton Road and 8th Avenue, and resulted in an hours-long road closure as officers investigated the scene.

Reason for what happened

Investigators say the crash happened when a Dodge Durango struck a Kia Soul that was attempting to make a left turn at the intersection of Orangeview Drive and Ridge Road. The impact was severe enough to leave the two children dead and multiple others hospitalized.

Authorities have not yet released information about the identities or conditions of the injured individuals.

Ongoing Investigation

While police confirmed that alcohol does not appear to be a factor, the Largo Police Traffic Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash. As of now, no charges have been announced.

Officials urged drivers to avoid Ridge Road for several hours following the collision, as parts of the road remained closed for investigative work.
