The northbound lanes of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge have fully reopened after a crash during Thursday’s morning rush caused significant delays across I-275 in Manatee County.

What Happened

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the crash occurred just before 7 a.m. and initially blocked both northbound lanes, triggering a heavy traffic backup heading toward Pinellas County.

By 7:13 a.m., officials had completely shut down the northbound side of the bridge. One lane reopened earlier, but the right lane remained closed until around 9:30 a.m., when authorities confirmed that all lanes were clear and traffic had resumed normal flow.

FHP is currently investigating the incident. As of now, no details about the vehicles involved or injuries sustained have been released.
