A Miami Connection: From Michael Vita to Christopher Cline

One of the original dancers in the Broadway production, Michael Vita, a former Miami Beach resident, recalls his time performing in the show’s early years. Vita, who joined the original cast in the 1960s, remembers experiencing the magic of working alongside Broadway legends like Gwen Verdon and Chita Rivera. Although a missed opportunity for a speaking part in the original production left him disappointed, his contributions to Broadway’s history are celebrated.
Now, Christopher Cline, a University of Miami graduate, brings a fresh perspective to the stage. Cline, who is part of the 50th anniversary tour as Sergeant Fogarty, reflects on the responsibility of performing in such a historically significant show. Without a doubt, “Chicago” has stood the test of time for five decades. Cline believes its timeless appeal will continue for generations to come.
