Bonnaroo 2025 Canceled Due to Severe Weather: Festival Announces Evacuations and Refund Information

The 2025 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, which began on Thursday, June 12, has been officially canceled due to severe weather conditions in Manchester, Tennessee. After issuing an evacuation notice on Friday, June 13, the festival organizers confirmed the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the event around 7:30 p.m. local time.

Severe Weather Forces Cancellation

The National Weather Service updated the forecast to show heavy thunderstorms and significant precipitation, which would worsen camping and evacuation conditions over the coming days. The stormy weather damaged parts of the festival grounds. Organizers prioritized attendee safety, especially in the “Outeroo” camping area.

“We are beyond gutted, but we must make the safest decision,” the statement read. “We’re going to make things right with you, and you will find refund information at the end of this message, but let’s start with the next steps.”

Evacuation Plans and Safety Measures

Festival organizers asked those who had decent camping sites or were in RVs to consider staying until the evacuation process could begin in full the following day. The statement emphasized the importance of patience, as some campers were stranded in difficult conditions. The primary goal was to ensure the safe evacuation of all attendees, particularly those with accessibility needs.

“The number one thing we need from the Bonnaroo community is patience,” the message continued. “We will prioritize getting those in the worst conditions and those with special needs off The Farm as soon as possible.”

Refund Details and Impact

The news hit festivalgoers hard. However, Bonnaroo’s organizers pledged to provide full refunds for tickets and parking passes. Since Thursday’s Day 1 of the festival went off without a hitch, organizers will prorate refunds for the lost days. Attendees can find the refund information through the festival’s social media posts.

Bonnaroo 2025 had been a highly anticipated event. It featured performances from Luke Combs, Dom Dolla, Insane Clown Posse, and Rebecca Black on Thursday. The festival was expected to host Tyler, The Creator, John Summit, Olivia Rodrigo, and other big-name artists over the weekend. It was set to close on Sunday with performances by Hozier, Vampire Weekend, and Queens of the Stone Age.

Bonnaroo’s Message to Fans

The cancellation announcement ended with an emotional message from the festival’s organizers: “We have put our hearts and souls into making this weekend the most special one of the year, and cannot express how crushed we are to have to make this decision. Thank you in advance for your patience, your positivity, and your unfailing Bonnaroovian spirit.”

Fans will no doubt miss Bonnaroo, but safety remains the top priority in these difficult weather conditions.
