Le Zoo to Close at Bal Harbour Shops After Nearly a Decade

· · ·

Parisian-style brasserie Le Zoo is preparing to serve its final meals this April. After nearly ten years at Bal Harbour Shops, the beloved restaurant will officially close. It joins recent departures like Aba.

A Decade of French Flair in Miami

Launched in 2015 by renowned restaurateur Stephen Starr, Le Zoo introduced classic French cuisine to upscale Miami. It also brought charming café vibes to one of the city’s top retail destinations. Nestled beside designer storefronts, the restaurant became a local favorite for everything from leisurely lunches to champagne-fueled dinners.

It was the kind of place where shoppers could pause for oysters and rosé, or end a meeting over profiteroles tucked with bananas. Over the years, it built a loyal following for its balance of old-world elegance and Miami indulgence.

China Grill to Return in 2025

Le Zoo’s exit opens the door for a familiar name from China Grill, returning to Miami later this year. Once a major player in Miami’s dining scene, the Asian-fusion restaurant will take over the space in a highly anticipated comeback.

Starr Restaurants Hints at a New Concept

In a public statement, the Starr team thanked guests for their support and shared a message of optimism:

“Although this may be a goodbye for now for Le Zoo, we are looking forward to introducing a new Starr Restaurants concept at Bal Harbour in late 2025.”

Last Call for French Favorites

With its lease ending this April, Le Zoo invites guests to stop by over the next few weeks to celebrate a decade of memories, profiteroles, and Parisian-inspired dining.

So if you’ have ever sipped a chilled glass of rosé on their terrace or savored the steak frites — now’s the time to raise a final toast.
