Smokey Robinson Sued for $50M Over Assault Claims
Legendary Motown singer Smokey Robinson is facing a $50 million civil lawsuit filed by four former housekeepers who accuse him of sexual assault and rape. The complaint, filed anonymously by Jane Does 1 through 4, describes a disturbing pattern of abuse that allegedly occurred over several years at Robinson’s properties in California and Las Vegas.

Four Women File Lawsuit Alleging Pattern of Abuse and Hostile Work Environment
According to attorneys Kevin Harris and Herbert Hayden, the women claim Robinson used his power and their economic vulnerability to commit repeated acts of sexual violence. “They all feared missing a pay day and not being able to pay their rent or buy food for their families,” Harris stated.
Details of Allegations Include Specific Locations and Patterns
The complaint highlights repeated instances where Jane Does 1, 3, and 4 were allegedly assaulted in what they refer to as the “blue bedroom” at Robinson’s Chatsworth residence. Each accuser described Robinson laying down a towel before the assaults. Jane Doe 4 also accuses him of rape at his Las Vegas and Bell Canyon homes.
Jane Doe 2’s claims involve rape in the laundry room and garage, areas not covered by the residence’s security cameras.
Frances Robinson Also Named in Lawsuit
The lawsuit also names Robinson’s wife, Frances Robinson, for allegedly fostering a hostile work environment and using ethnically offensive language. The plaintiffs accuse her of ignoring or enabling her husband’s alleged misconduct. They cite her knowledge of past settlements with other women.
“We believe Mr. Robinson is a sick and serial rapist that must be stopped,” Harris said during a press briefing.
Attorney Hayden added, “She used their status and the client’s dependence on income to silence the victims.”
No Criminal Charges Filed to Date
As of now, no police reports or criminal charges have been filed against Robinson. The case remains a civil matter, though attorneys say they are exploring further legal options.
