Since 1977, this beloved festival has honored the deep Bahamian roots of Coconut Grove—one of South Florida’s oldest Black communities. And this year, the energy feels even more powerful.

Three Days of Culture, Music & Community

Spanning Grand Avenue from SW 37th Avenue to Elizabeth Street, Goombay Festival transforms the neighborhood into a vibrant Caribbean village. Free to attend, the event draws locals and visitors alike with its unbeatable mix of music, food, and heritage.

At the heart of the celebration? Junkanoo parades. These lively processions feature pulsating drums, feathered costumes, and a joy that spills into the crowd. It’s a centuries-old Bahamian tradition that continues to move people—literally and emotionally.

Live Music Lineup: Headliners + Homegrown Heat

This year’s headliners include R&B powerhouse Keke Wyatt and Miami’s own Ball Greezy.

But there’s more. Saturday and Sunday stages will be packed with talent like:

A Feast for the Senses

Food vendors bring authentic Bahamian flavors to the street. You’ll find everything from conch fritters and salad to grilled seafood and island-inspired sweets. Between bites, stroll through local craft stalls, browse Afro-Caribbean art, and take part in cultural workshops.

Why Goombay Still Matters

Community leaders hope Goombay will reconnect younger generations to their Bahamian roots. For many, it’s more than a festival. It’s a homecoming.

As Goombay Committee Chair vonCarol Kinchens-Williams puts it: “If you’re not Bahamian, you’ve still got a little Caribbean in you somewhere.”
